IAF MI - 17 HELICOPTER CRASHES DURING LANDING NEAR KEDARNATH TEMPLE

An Mi 17 helicopter of the Indian Air Force, crash-landed near Kedarnath on Tuesday morning while trying to land far from the Kedarnath shrine. ANI reported that the helicopter caught fire following the collision with the iron girder while trying to land at a helipad. The fire was later brought under control.

There were eight people six passengers, pilot and co-pilot onboard but all are safe with minor injuries, an official said. The hilly area is quite risky for helicopters. A court of inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident. Congress leader Ashok Gehlot tweeted that he was "relieved to know" that the IAF officials on board were out of danger.

‪‪MS Dhoni‬, ‪Padma Bhushan‬, ‪India‬, ‪Padma Shri‬, ‪Ram Nath Kovind‬‬

MS Dhoni made India the world champion, 7 years later, Padma Bhushan honored on the same day. Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India's third highest civilian honor on Monday. The award was given to the President by President Ramnath Kovind. In honor of the honorary post of Lieutenant Colonel, Dhoni had come to Rashtrapati Bhavan to take Padma Bhushan's honor in the army's dress.       
                                                                                 


                                                                                                                                                                   Interestingly, the Indian cricket team defeated Sri Lanka in 2011 and won the ODI World Cup title on 7th April, 7th day, ie, on the day of Dhoni's captaincy on April 2. On this day he got Padma Bhushan. Apart from Dhoni, billiards player Pankaj Advani was also honored with Padma Bhushan.      
                                      

Dhoni was earlier honored with the country's highest sporting honor, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna in 2007, while Padma Shri, the country's fourth highest civilian honor in 2009. Like Dhoni, Advani has been very successful in his game and he won gold medal in the 2006 and 2010 Asian Games. Prior to Mahendra Singh Dhoni, 10 cricketers have received this honor. Before him, Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Rahul Dravid, Chandu Borde, Pravesen DB Deodhar, CK Nayudu, Lala Amarnath, Raja Bhalender Singh and Vijay Anand have received this honor.
